About us

Sowing SEEDS covers the Community Partnerships Executive North Dorset (CPEND) area of North and East Dorset and the Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), who working together originally secured £2.85 million (as a result of a national review on all LAGs during 2011, the revised programme allocation is now £1.944M for the lifetime of the programme) to improve the economic wellbeing of the area with funding available until the end of 2013.  The funding is being delivered through the Local Action Group, a Group that wants to support your project ideas.

We need ideas that support the local rural businesses in your area, or that help your community make the most of its natural environment or cultural heritage – activities that will have a long term beneficial impact on where you live and work.

Have a look around our website, and if there’s anything else you need, any queries, comments or support, or even if you’d just like an informal chat about an idea for a project or joining the Local Action Group please do contact our Sowing SEEDS team – we are poised by the telephone waiting for your call!

We are part of the Local Action for Rural Communities (LARC) Funding Programme supported by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) through the European Union’s LEADER Programme, and Wiltshire Council is acting as our accountable body – without all of them we couldn’t do what we do!  The link to the EC Rural Development pages is here
